Ninjas!

Topic of the lesson:

Using a great Blogspot I recently found, The Daily English Show.  So, I created some activities around her 17 September post:
I will be the first to admit, this isn't the greatest lesson I've ever created... I just got latched onto the idea of lessons around a Ninja, remembered a song my godson used to sing when I visited (see below) and just tried to make something work.  Please forgive... :)

Target audience

This audience has got to be 7th grade, ancient history class filled with beginner to intermediate learners.  I think it's the only class I can get motivated about ninjas...

Length of the lesson(s)

One lesson, 50 minutes

Objectives

  • To practice writing with the IPA.
  • To add words to our learning dictionaries (digital journals http://www.livejournal.com/ kept by the class)
  • To differentiate between past and present tense.

    • take the list of vocabulary words and type their IPA at http://ipa.typeit.org/
    • cut and paste your IPA spellings into your LIVE Journal

Deep down... everyone loves Ninjas!
